The Story
The cottages in the valley of the “White river” were used in the past by olive farmers for their harvesting for more than 300 years, after the 2nd world war the whole area was abandoned. In1984 the property was bought by our beloved grandfather “Ioannis Grammatikas” who lovingly renovated and restored the old stone and earth-built cottages into comfortable self catering vacation homes with careful attention to their historic structure with much loving attention to detail, ensuring their rustic charm and individual character is retained, including original features such as wooden beamed ceilings, white washed walls, and stone floors.
Stone, marble, earth & clay from the gorge, ochre ,olive wood & bamboo from the surrounding area are the natural materials used for the restoration of Natura cottages by local craftsmen, who resurrected old designs and techniques.
